On approaching Vietnam after a length of over 4,100 km, the Mekong river is divided into eight branches before emptying up in the East Sea, making the southern part of Vietnam a very fertile delta. The delta is the main rice-producing area of the country. Just a short distance from Ho Chi Minh City, paddy fields can be seen to unfurl along either side of the national highway. When the harvesting days come, farmers gather in their fields to reap their crops. Armloads of ripe rice straw are collected for threshing close to the highway. Thanks to its nature-endowed fertility, the Mekong Delta also produces fish, coconut and a variety of tropical fruits. Under a scorching summer sun it will be a perfect idea for you to make a ride by motorboat on a canal in the shade of coconut and palm trees, sampling fruits freshly plucked from an orchard nearby. The experience will certainly be unforgettable.

Day 1– SAÏGON/VINH LONG /CAN THO–160 Kms

- Departure for Cai Be-Vinh Long which is situated between the Tien and the Hau Rivers. Here the soil is rich in alluvium, favourable for rice and various fruit cultivation.The majority of inhabitants live on farming, the remaining on petty trading.
- After arrival in Cai Be, a boat will take you to the floating market busy with sellers and buyers bargaining and exchanging their goods from their boats. Then our boats continue to the maze of shady canals passing the countless fruits, stop at a local orchard to enjoy tropical seasonal fruits. - A boat will take you cruising to the busiest floating market of the Mekong River Delta: Cai Rang floating market. Hundreds of vessels gather here to trade all kinds of fruit from neighboring fertile farms. You can have some tropical fruit to eat. Three-hour boat cruising will take you through the most picturesque rural landscapes of the delta. Next, we will visit of the Ca Nai Canal .
